Who Am I?

I was born in NSW, raised and educated in QLD, and moved to WA in 1986. After twenty-five years in the IT industry predominately as a project manager, I escaped from city-life with my husband Dave, and moved to a farm in southwest WA. There I discovered a passion for writing children’s stories after watching our city-bred poodle confront a sheep for the first time.

Dave and I moved back to sunny Queensland in 2011 with our scallywag dog, Cassie. In Noosa I rediscovered my love for Art after joining Noosa Arts & Crafts in 2012.  Since then I have broadened my creativity in drawing and painting using Pastels, Watercolours and other mediums.

I am …

  • a Writer & Publisher of Children’s Books (YA & Middle Grade Fiction)

  • a Member of Noosa Arts & Crafts since 2012

  • an artist who is continually developing skills with different mediums

  • available for Pet Portrait or other art commissions

Some of my highlights

One of my favourite projects was writing and publishing my first novel “Time Conspiracy” in 2017.  It has been an interesting but challenging learning experience and I have only just started the journey.

After spending many years in the IT industry, my husband and I decided to become Murray Grey Stud Cattle Breeders in a magical place called Denmark, on the south coast of Western Australia.

Variety is the spice of life

Then I followed my passions and became an Writer and Artist. It’s been a wonderful, if not unusual, journey  … and yet the future is still open for more fun!

  • 25 years in the IT industry
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Computing)
  • Master of Creative Writing
  • 3rd Place 2012 CYA Competition (Chapter Book Category) for “Time Conspiracy”
  • 1st Place 2014 CYA Competition (Chapter Book Category for “Duck Boy” aka “Knight Flyer”

I try to balance my time, energy with the things I love to do. This is sometimes a challenge, but I try.

So many things to do … so little time!

As a member of Noosa Arts & Crafts, I have spent time a few days a week in their headquarters at Wallace House with different activity groups such as the Writers Group (Novels), Pastels, and Watercolours.  Here I learn from fantastic teachers and other members of the group.  The organisation is very supportive of its members and a great place where you can share your creative talents.

And of course, I then spend time at home working on my projects.  It could be a manuscript for a new book or an exciting new artistic endeavour using my pastels, pencils and/or  paints.  I am led by my “inner voice and spirit” to know what I should, or need, to work on. Since I have retired, I feel blessed that I can spend time on my creations.

I also love spending time with my family and friends.  Enjoying a nice meal and a cold glass of Chardonnay (or two!) Playing with the little rascal of a dog called Cassie.  Cooking old favourites and developing new recipes.

And always

Discovering … Learning … Creating … Experimenting … Growing
